Sesame noodles were horrible. Much of dinner disappointment and thrown out. Used to love this place :-(

3/19/2014. No stars. Food (chicken dish) was completely awful. Couldn't eat it. The chicken tasted spoiled, what little there was of it. Dish consisted mainly of chicken skin. The delivery person hadn't a clue. It was like it was the first day he was put in NYC delviering food. Ollie's has fallen from high peaks. Hey Seamless - this place make you look bad. NEVER again.

Decent food. But poor manners. You should never ask for a tip if you're a worker in the service industry.

Quick delivery, even with all the Big Game mayhem. The scallion pancakes were mediocre, but the juice buns and the roast duck were pretty solid. Definitely decent for midtown.

Fast, hot, and delicious! Followed Franklin B.'s advice and got the Chong Qing Diced Chicken from the Sichuan menu and it was fantastic—delicate, crispy, and just the right amount of spicy! Also ordered the eggplant & broccoli and was not disappointed—with just a bit of a kick, and the right amount of oil, it may be the best version of that eggplant dish I've found on Seamless so far.

excellent ribs and decent soup dumplings.

The food was decent! Everything was cooked to my instruction (little oil, no MSG, add ginger - healthy things like that), and the food was warm upon delivery within half an hour, even though it is 20 degrees outside. I got the west lake beef chowder which is perfect for cold and flu season, some vegetables, and a quarter serving of roast duck.

They charged me for two drinks and only delivered one.

Worst place ever. 90 minutes and no food. Call them, and they have the gumption to say "too busy to process your order". Excellent customer service. Who knows what they add to their food. We just canceled our order.
Do yourself a favor and order somewhere else. You will avoid the frustration and the fat medical bill that is sure to follow.

Is it possible this location has gotten better over time? I err toward pickup because of my proximity, FYI. I wish we could write comments for each individual item, if only as reminders to ourselves. Dan Dan Noodles: they give you way too much, and perhaps cook the noodles more than they should, but it's still pretty *good*. The bacon lunch special is a nice find. Crispy Salt & Pepper Pork Chop Cutlets is delightful and more people should *LIKE* them. The takeout I get from this place is pretty decent and consistent.

Food was inedible..Threw it in the trash..The delivery man banged on my door and rang my bell telling me I didn't trip him for 15 minutes...Which was incorrect... Lo mein was burnt and stuck together...Shrimp and lobster sauce was like water..NO TASTE at all..Shrimp was fishy.. Literally the the whole order down the trash...STAY AWAY..DO not order from here..The food is disgusting, and they are very rude.

First time ordering, probably won't order again. Got the General Tso's.. came with like three broccoli, barely any flavor to the veggies. All of my pieces of chicken were half chewable mostly fat. I don't know if I got the end of a batch of the chicken or what but it was awful. Egg drop soup wasn't that flavorful. Quick delivery.

Whatever you do, don't get the whole fish. There was not more than 3 ounces of fish I was able to scavenge for 22 bucks. That comes out to over 100 dollars per pound!

Great food - best chinese in NYC - the deliver people are very nice and timely

If you like spicy Chinese food, this is your place to eat. I don't like the owner. She is not kind person. I don't mind it.

I'd give them 4 stars if their rice didn't taste like Uncle Ben's white rice. I would order from this place exclusively if they made real jasmine rice.

Was a loyal LIncoln Center regular and surprised how different the food is here. I loved there cold sesame noodles and ordered here and have just noodles and a bowl of sauce with tons of peanuts. Not the same as LC. Spinach linguine style noodles with julienne veges and a silky sauce. Oh well..

Way over priced and disappointing. Everything was so greasy. Covering 21/25 size shrimp in inch thick batter doesn't make them prawns. The General Tso was way too sweet and had no spice. The crispy duck was equal parts greasy batter and dried out duck.

Great egg rolls

Surprisingly bad. I'd been to the restaurant in morning side heights. Doesn't remotely compare. Dry rice and noodles basically. Avoid.

Never happy. I have tried several times and things just taste weird. Wait a few months and try them again and always disappointed.

We live nearby so we frequent this restaurant. While the Sichuan food here isn't the best you can find in the city, the quality is absolutely solid and the service is consistent. This is one of our go-to places when we can't find anything new.

My 4th order this year came very quickly (15-20 min), hot and fresh. The spring rolls were tasty, the chicken w eggplant is delicious, the lemon chicken is great if you are a tempura fan and I like the sauces on side to keep things crispy. I'm consistently pleased w Ollie's in or delivery via Seamless.

The spicy kung pao chicken wasn't good at all and the vegetable spring rolls were really bland. Won't be ordering from Ollie's again, unfortunately.

Worst Orange Chicken ive had in my life. Soggy and watery sauce.
Posted a year ago by Michael G.
Not impressed. Always walked by this place and its constantly busy, so I thought I would give it a shot. Eh - no bueno! Ordered the orange chicken and paid $1 extra because they could "deep fry it crispy.." HA! Perhaps it was crispy when it left the place, but not when it got to mine! Don't recommend that - or the flavorless General Tso's chicken. Wont be ordering from here again.. 2 stars though because it came pretty quick..

This place is authentic Sichuan Chinese food. The favors are there, don't order the Americanized dishes at a place like this, obviously, or it will be bad. Get the braised fish filets with napa cabbage - spicy and delicious, or double cooked pork. Dan dan noodle appetizer is also very yummy. Anything under the traditional Sichuan favors category will be good. - my go to Chinese place in midtown west.

Crispy orange beef isn't crispy, nor orangey. Not good. Pan fried noodles with pork was slightly better, but nothing i would order again.

Food was good! Service was fast... I just didn't know what pan fried noodles was. My fault! Would order again. :)
***Second Time Ordering--- Dry Sauteed Asparagus is BANGIN'!
****Most recent time ordering (12/10/12) -- Ordered Sichuan cucumbers and was sent rotten cucumbers.

Excellent Szechwan food and super-low lunch special prices. You really can't go wrong with Ollie's, which at this point is one of the grand daddys of NYC uptown chinese food. Slammin' kung pow and spicy dishes.

Food was greasy and just not good. Delivery person was very rude. Food arrived quickly, so for that 1 star. Will never order from this place again.
There are many, many Chinese places with better food, cheaper price, courteous delivery persons.
Don't waste your money and tip, save yourself from any more stress. I'd rather starve than order from here. Actually I just made myself a delicious plate of zucchini stir-fry. Yes, seeing them again at Seamless motivated me to cook at home. I guess that's a positive thing I got out of my experience.

If you can, eat at Ollies. Dine in and the food is fantastic! However, never get delivery. The General Tso chicken was soggy and disgusting. It was like black on the inside. However, when i ate there it was crispy and delicious. Also. the jalipino beef eat in is fantastic, but once again they somehow ruin it for delivery. Not sure whats up with it, would dine in any day of the week, should have asked for a refund it was so bad for delivery though

Food is great as usual. Service not so good. I just ordered and the delivery guy called me to tell me that he was downstairs in my office building. Sometimes this happens as the delivery guys who do not have ID are not allowed up in the building. When I came downstairs, the delivery guy was just pulling up on his bike (I guess he had called my while in transit), and had never attempted to make his way upstairs. Real problem here is I had already given him a tip through the ordering process. I don't think its asking to much to have the delivery guy make his way upstairs. So, Ollie's loses two stars in my book for this blatant disregard for their customers time.

The Soups..The Soups are where its at!! Don't underestimate their potential..especially the Cantonese Wonton ones! Otherwise they might just be average, but the soups ...the soups..are A+!! (Roast Pork A++) (Warning chicken has bone in..you may prefer Wonton or Pork )

The Yang Chow Fried rice was excellent. Enough for 2 meals! The egg rolls are legit too. The quality seems to have picked up recently and I have been hooked over the past 2 months.

Eating at the restaurant is better.

Steamed pork buns are surprisingly better than I would have expected and scallion pancake is passable. Skip the general taso's and sesame chicken type dishes and go for the noodles in my opinion.
Posted 3 years ago by Ricky P.
I ordered the pork and vegetable dumplings and both were not good. They lacked flavor and were too bland to eat. Ollie's used to have good dumplings but not anymore. I also ordered the chicken fried rice and it was also lacking in flavor. The entire meal was basically not worth eating. I would be hesitant to order from them again.

WARNING: atypical General Tso's here. Looks more like kung-pow chicken sopped in the sauce rather than than the usual stir-fried look. tastes weird too. Just a personal note, dont know how much this may/may not benefit others.

Food was inedible and greasy. Won ton soup was oily. Asked for all white meat in the sesame chicken and got dark and white meat. Asked for brown rice and got white rice. Asked for 4 pancakes and plum sauce and wouldn't you know it they forgot that too. My recommendation is to never order from this restaurant.

I always enjoy my food at Ollies, however I am consistently disappointed by how slow their delivery is. 15-30 minutes does not accurately reflect how long it takes for them to deliver. 30-45 minutes is more like it. Don't order if you are hungry or in a rush!
